Mrs. Anton Aberson, 76, died Saturday morning January 13, 1979, at the Orange City Hospital following a lingering illness.

Julia was born May 3, 1902 at rural Alton, the daughter of Henry & Annie Scholten. On January 1, 1925, she was married to Anton Aberson at Alton and the couple farmed in the Alton area. Ten years ago they moved to Alton.

Mrs. Aberson was a member of the Alton Reformed Church and also the Ladies Aid Society.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 15, 1979 at 1:30 p.m. in the Alton Reformed Church with Rev. Clarence Greving officiating. Organist was Mrs. Ray Wierda and Soloist was Mrs. Ruth Fennema with the selection "Wonderful Peace".

Casket bearers were James Berkenpas, John Vrieze, Harold Scholten, Gilbert Aberson, Peter Aberson and John Aberson. Interment was in the Nassau Township Cemetery in Alton with arrangements by Van Gelder Funeral Home in Orange City.

Surviving are her husband, two sons, Anthony of Alton, and Henry of Pipestone, Minn.; four grandchildren, two brothers, Lawrence Scholten of Calif., Elroy Scholten of Alton; two sisters, Mrs. Leonard (Marie) Berkenpas, and Mrs. Roy (Marlys) Rens of Alton.

Mrs. Aberson was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty, one brother, Gerrit Scholten, and one sister Leona.
