NOCONA, Texas — Garry David "Punkin" Alsup, 56, of Nocona passed away on May 7, 2011 at his home.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday May 10, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Terral First Baptist Church, with Bro. Mark Kunkel officiating. Interment will follow at Terral Cemetery, under the direction of Terral Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family will be receiving friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m.
He was born September 11, 1954 at Nocona to Wade and Tooter (Hinsley) Alsup. He grew up in Fleetwood, OK. He started driving a tractor when he was 5 years old. He graduated from Terral High School in 1972. Punkin worked for Chicago Rock Island and Burlington Northern Railroad for many years, and then Texas Turbo Jet of Nocona. He made his home in the Nocona area.
Survivors include his mother, Tooter, Fleetwood, OK; two brothers: Barry Alsup, and Chris Alsup and wife Ginger, both of Terral; a sister Teresa Tallon and husband Rick, also of Terral; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend, Rowdy, his dog; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daddy, Wade Alsup, in 2003; and his grandparents Buster and Lizzie Alsup, and Howard and Donnie Hinsley.
