CARLSBAD--Miguel "Mike" O. Carrasco Sr., 92, of Brantley Road in Eddy County, died Friday, July 14, 1995, at Guadalupe Medical Center.
A Christian wake will be held 7 p.m. Monday in the Denton-Funchess Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at San Jose Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Merrill as celbrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Gardens.
Denton-Funchess Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Carrasco was born on March 31, 1903, to Jose de La Luz and Juanita Ortega Carrasco in Balmorhea, Texas, where he grew up.
He married Miquela Navarette in 1918, and they moved to Carlsbad in 1942. He ranched and farmed in the Otis area until his death.
Mr. Carrasco's wife preceded him in death on Sept. 13, 1985. He was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church.
Survivors include sons Alberto Carrasco of Hays, Kan., Joe Carrasco, Jesus Carrasco, Mike Carrasco and Frank Carrasco, all of Carlsbad; daughters Maria Luna of Mesa, Ariz., Isabel Tobar, Juanita Sapien, Lucy Trujillo and Mickie Villa, all of Carlsbad; sister Feliciat Carrasco of Texas; and numerous grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Carrasco, Jimmy Carrasco, Kevin Carrasco, Benny Villa, Mark Trujillo, Michael Carrasco, Joshua Carrasco and Bernard Trujillo.
