Hit-and –Run Investigation Continues
Estherville – The investigation into the death of Michael Carr, 19, is still continuing, according to Estherville Chief of Police Robert Seylar.

Mr. Carr died Jan. 2 of injuries he received in a hit-and-fun accident early on the morning of December 27 near the intersection of Iowa Highway 9 and Emmet County blacktop A-22 on the west edge of Estherville.

Seylar said that the police are still interviewing possible witnesses and are continuing the investigation. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 7, 1976)

Estherville – Funeral services for Michael Edward Carr were held today at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with interment St. Patrick's Cemetery here.

Mr. Carr, 19, died at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. following injuries received in an hit-and-run accident in Estherville on Saturday, Dec. 27.

He was born Oct. 22, 1956 in Des Moines, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Carr. He received his education in St. John's Grade School and Tech High School in Des Moines and Estherville High School, graduating in 1975. He moved to Estherville with his family two years ago.

Mr. Carr worked for Robo Car Wash here while attending high school and was employed by the Rock Island Railroad during the past summer. He had enrolled at Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville for the second semester. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his parents; five sister, Linda of Des Moines, Mrs. Kathy Chandy of Minneapolis, Minn., Mary, Janine, and Janelle of Estherville; his grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Bible of Waite Park, Minn. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 5, 1976)
