ROSE HILL, VA. - Snyder Harris, 97, passed away Thursday (Feb. 16, 2006) at Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline E. Harris; two sons, Richard B. Harris and Robert S. Harris Jr.; his parents, Joseph and Margaret Ward Harris; six brothers; two sisters; son-in-law, Joseph C. Carter Jr.; and daughter-in-law, Betty Harris. Harris Surviving are one son, Paul Harris and wife, Kay of Jonesville, VA.; one daughter, Judy Carter of Martinsville, VA.; seven grandsons, Keith, Mark, Bart, Jason, Andy, Alex and Shawn Harris; two granddaughters, Virginia Carter Brown and Elizabeth Carter; two step-grandsons, Chris and Terry Cook; 14 great-grandchildren, Logan and Miranda Harris, Zachary and Lukas Harris, Lissette Harris, Austin and Kaylin Cook, Taylor Spurrier, Tristan and Conner Allen, Ali, Amber and Emma Morris and Haley Brown. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morgan Memorial United Methodist Church in Rose Hill, VA. with the Rev. Norman Clark and the Rev. Layne Pennington officiating. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in the Lee Family Cemetery in Rose Hill, VA.
