BIOGRAPHY:
Beulah Alexander was born April 28, 1887 to Sarah Ellen (Gilbert) and John Huston Alexander in Kelseyville, Lake County, California. Beulah had numerous brothers and sisters, and half-brothers and sisters: Dollie Cook (Stonebraker); William Jasper Cook; Jennie ‘Addie’ Cook (Gertz); Nellie C. Cook (Mullen); Harvey J. Alexander; James Franklin Alexander; Dora Etta Alexander (Dick); Laura May Alexander (Swets); and Alice D. Alexander (Mecklenburg).

Beulah’s parents moved their family to Washington Territory in 1890 to be part of the Puget Sound Cooperative Colony in Port Angeles widely advertised around the world as "Homes for all. Free lands, water and light. Palace Hotel living at ten dollars per month. Exemption from taxes, rent and interest." When the Colony disintegrated in 1900, her family moved to Sequim (Dungeness, Clallam County), Washington.

Beulah was an attractive petite woman. She married John Marcus Roberts December 24, 1906, in Tacoma, Washington. Beulah and John had one child, Wallace Marcus Roberts. Her husband John passed away January, 1932. As a widow, Beulah was always living in close proximity to her son Wallace, either living with his family or in the same apartment duplex. Beulah helped daily to raise her only granddaughter Lois Marie Roberts during the depression years while her son Wallace was sick and daughter-in-law Ethel worked.

Beulah’ desire was that she wanted to live long enough to see her granddaughter Lois’ first child. Beulah passed away just ten months after her first great grandchild Linda was born.

NOTE: According to birth records, a baby was born JUNE 25, 1910 to Beulah and John Marcus Roberts in Tacoma, WA named MARCUS ALEXANDER ROBERTS. Their son, Wallace Marcus Roberts was born September 25, 1910 (3 months later)- no birth record is found.
