|Ronald Gene Skogstad|
|Birth: ||Dec. 11, 1933|
|Death: ||Feb. 24, 1938|
Ronald Gene Skogstad, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerome Skogstad, was born December 11, 1933, at Eleva, Wisconsin.
In 1934, he moved to Mondovi with his parents, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Ronnie was baptized March 22, 1936 by Rev W. J. Griffiths at Mondovi in the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was 4 years 2 months and 14 days old when he passed away at 11:00 o'clock, Thursday morning, February 23, 1938.
Ronnie was an unusual child. The few short years he was with us, he was always loving, kind and true. His extreme brightness was known to all who knew him. For a child so small, he was always thoughtful of his loved ones, which brought much happiness to them. He often remarked when he knew someone had passed on, "now she has gone to Heaven." He knew that when she was in Heaven she was taken care of. We feel happy to think that he had such a strong faith in Heaven, for now that he is taken away from us, we know that he has gone there. He was a kind faithful and a devoted little playmate to all his neighbors. He was faithful in his Sunday School attendance, having missed only one Sunday since he was old enough to attend. We always though of him as the picture of health.
Ronny was always cheerful and enjoyed life to the fullest extent. He had enjoyed the best of health in recent months until he became ill with pneumonia on Saturday, February 19, at his home, but was later taken to the hospital. All the medical skill and the most devoted love and care could not help to keep him with us. They needed an angel in heaven, so they sent for an angel like him.
He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved parents, four grandparents and many other relatives and a host of friends.
When they left him he was sleeping
With a smile upon his face;
Just as if an Angel passing,
Lowly bent, his kissed the place.
The loved ones hearts remember---
Grieving for their little lad--
Of the happiness he brought them
In the times when they were sad.
None was stronger, or more brave,
Than our little precious man.
When our Savior came to take him
To the Promised Land.
CARD OF THANKS
We wish to express our sincere thanks to our many relatives, friends and neighbors who by various kindly deeds expressed their sympathy to us in the sickness and death of our beloved son. Especially do we than Rev. Deane Irish for his comforting words, the singers, the pallbearers and all those who in any way helped to lighten our great sorrow.
Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Skogstad.
