GUNTOWN - John Harold Kellum, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness. He was a lifelong resident of Guntown. He was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. He was a retired employee of the US Department of Agriculture with 25 years of service. He was also a retired farmer and cattleman. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII.
Services will be at 11a.m. today at Waters Funeral Home with Minster Tim Childs officiating. Burial will be in the Campbelltown Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Catherine Barnes Kellum of Guntown; two nephews, George Russell Kellum (Carol), of Auburn Community and John Thomas Kellum (Carol) of Kenosha Wis.; and three nieces, Mary Nell Kellum Sauls (Dick) of Kenosha. Wis., Olivia Kellum Gulbrandsen (Arne)of Racine, Wis. and Barbara B. Stephen (Ed) of Mt Airy, MD.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Delma Long Kellum; and his brother, Russell Kellum.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Herring, Jimmy Dillinger, Dr. Ken Kellum, Dr. Tom Kellum and Jack Kellum.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today.
Memorials may be made to Pine Vale Children's Home in Corinth.
