U.S. Congressman. During World War I, he served overseas as a First Lieutenant pilot in the aviation branch of the U.S. Army. After the war, he graduated from the law department of George Washington University, in 1920, was admitted to the bar and commenced to practice law in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a member of the Minnesota State Senate, (1923-25). In 1925, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth and Seventieth Congresses, serving until 1929. After his term, he was employed in the legal department of the Curtiss-Wright Corporation, (1929-30, 33) and was in the legal department of the Veterans Administration, (1934-37). After leaving politics, he practiced law until his death at age 63.
