Lake of the Ozarks, Mo. — Linda Lou (Wood) Hawk was called home, Monday, Jan. 31, 2011, to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after her long fight with cancer. She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by family. She was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Chillicothe, Mo.
On Sept. 3, 1961, in Cameron, Mo., she was united in marriage to Jerry M. Hawk, who survives of the home.
Linda graduated from Cameron Missouri High School where she was active in music and drama. She received a B.S. in music education from the University of Kansas and taught music in Overland Park, Kan. Later she assisted in music at Valley View United Methodist Church and Stanley Presbyterian Church. She sang and helped direct the Johnson County Women's Chorus in Overland Park, Kan. She helped direct the Chancel Choir and the Felicity Singers at Manchester United Methodist Church in Manchester, Mo., and the Chancel Choir and Agape Singers at Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, Mo. Her memberships include Ozark Chapel United Methodist Church in Laurie, Mo., and Delta Delta Delta Sorority.
