Semple was born Nov. 17, 1914 in Jasper County, the daughter of Clarence and Inez (Beverlin) McDowell. She married Merritt Semple March 2, 1935. He preceded her in death March 23, 1977.
She was a homemaker and a school teacher. She was a member of Faith Bible Church in Olney.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Snider and her husband, Russell of Dundas and Carolyn Kermicle and her husband, Paul of Dundas; one brother-in-law, Ed Hilderbrand of Olney; two sisters, Deane Greenwood of Newton and Grace Bliss of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; two sisters-in-law, Etta McDowell of Toledo, and Florence Lock and her husband, Stan of Olney; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.
