Born on September 2, 1954, he was a son of the late Carl and Louise Lambert.
Robert served honorably in the United States Navy from 1972 - 1978 on board the USS Independence as Plane Captain for the VF-102 Dianmondbacks. He devoted 28 years of service as a machine operator for Ecusta Corp, and three years most recently working as a Journeyman Surveyor for Fluor Daniels.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman and deer hunter and a member of Little River Baptist Church.
Surviving is his wife of 34 years, Paula Austin Lambert, two brothers; Eddie Lambert of Gray, Tennessee and Ernie Lambert of Brevard, North Carolina; two daughters, Robin Lambert Strait of Rock Hill, South Carolina and Carol Lambert Walker of Brevard, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Callie Rose Walker and Austin Walker, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 2m 2011 at Little River Baptist Church, Little River, North Carolina at 1 P. M. with the Rev. Jeff Maynard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
