The story traditionally held is when Nicholas & family arrived at the port of Philadelphia, PA on the ship ‘Peggy’ on Sept. 24, 1753, youngest son Casper was so weak that the oldest son John, carried him on his back all the way to Berks County, 70 or more miles.

Casper Schrock was born in Switzerland, ca. 1745. He immigrated to America and married Mary Stuckey, a native of Germany. They had ten children. He was a successful farmer in Berlin, Somerset County, Pennsylvania.

Mary died bet Sep 1795-1809. Mary is also most likely, interned in this graveyard. Casper remarried between Sep 1795-1809 to CATHERINE BLOUGH 69030173
