She married Herman D. Christian who preceded her in death on June 4, 1977.
She is survived by her children: Karen Thompson & husband Gene, Herrick, IL; Gary Christian & wife Beverly, Ohlman, IL; Dennis Christian & wife Monyca, Tower Hill, IL; Gloria Evans & husband Rick, Ottawa, IL; Gail Rauch & companion Greg Scribner, Nokomis, IL; Janeen Morell & husband Kenny, Nokomis, IL; Son-in-law: Larry Ballard, Pana, IL; 25 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; brother: Robert "Bob" Waters, Sullivan, IL; sisters: Bernice Dixon, Pana, IL; Dolores Sphar, Pana, IL; Betty Endris, Pana, IL; Joan Hoehn, Sullivan, IL; and Rowena McArdle, Taylorville, IL. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son Denyle "Butch" Christian; daughter Doretta Ballard; 1 great granddaughter Brittany Christian; two brothers: Bill and Gene Waters; and by her sister: LuLuBelle Waters.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 13, 2009 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. with her son-in-law Rev. Kenneth Morell officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Pana.
