THOMAS RICHARD HERNANDEZ 1949 - 2005 age 56, passed away on December 6, 2005 in Redlands, California. He is th e beloved husband of Eva Hernandez, and the beloved father of his three daughters, Arwen Evenstar of Pasadena, Hether Sharane of Surprise, Arizona, and Dawne Sarai of Calimesa. He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Antonio and Belen Hernandez, and also survived by his mother-in-law, Rose Perez of Colton, and his sisters and brothers, Pat Hernandez of Rancho Cucamonga, Barbara Garcia of Chula Vista, Anton Suchil of Colton, Sandra Carroll of San Bernardino, Gregg Hernandez of Victorville and Valente Hernandez of Colton. He also leaves behind beloved nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and co-workers and students. Tom was born in 1949 at the United Verde Hospital in Jerome, Arizona, that is now the Jerome Grand Hotel, and grew up in Colton, California. He was a veteran of the US Army's elite 82nd Airborne division, having served during Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. He was married in 1972, after returning home, and worked at Kaiser Steel in Fontana for fifteen years. He then attended Crafton H ills College, and California State University, San Bernardino, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology, while working full-time for Jurupa School District. After completing his teaching credential at CSUSB, he taught at Live Oak Elementary School from 1994 until the time of his death. Services will be held at Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel in Redlands, California on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at 10 am, with viewing the previous hour.
