Camilla J. Wemhoff, 104, of Omaha, formerly of Humphrey, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church, in Humphrey, with Father John Andrews, officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery in Humphrey.
Visitation will be 3-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, with a 3 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. scripture service, and continuing 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, all at the church.
Camilla was born Feb. 19, 1907, in Raeville, to Adolph H. and Susannah T. (Heinen) Schumacher. She attended St. Bonaventure School in Raeville. She married Albert H. Wemhoff on Sept. 10, 1929, in Raeville, at the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. She had lived in Raeville, St. Mary's and the Humphrey community. In 1990, she moved to Omaha, New Cassel Center and, in 2005, to Waterford Home. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She was an excellent seamstress and quilter, having made a quilt for all her grandchildren, and enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, St. Francis Ladies Sewing Club, and the St. Francis Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children and spouses, Marguerite (Richard) Delaney, of Omaha, Nora (Clement) Loughran, of Omaha, Frank (Alice) Wemhoff, of Omaha, Irma (Robert) Gyhra, of Steinauer, Richard (Carolyn) Wemhoff, of Tarnov; 31 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; grandson, Todd Wemhoff; sisters, Germaine, Francie, Margaret, twin sister, Bernadine; and two brothers, Alphons and Richard.
Memorials suggested to family or donor's choice.
Duesman Funeral Chapel, in Humphrey, is in charge of arrangements.
