The hand of death last week called away one of our most highly respected citizens - David Deardorff. He was confined to his bed but a short time. About 43 years ago, Mr. Deardorff was married to Sarah Anna Trostle, of York Springs, and went to farming on his farm near Flohr's church, where he lived until about 12 years, when he moved to his small farm at the church, where he lived retired since. Mr. Deardorff had many friends and was well liked by all. The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 at Flohr's Church and was largely attended. The sermon was preached by Rev. D.T. Koser. The pall-bearers were the following nephews of Mr. Deardorff; Harry W. Deardorff, John A Deardorff, Chas. E. Deardroff, Allen Trostle, Clarence A. Bream and Harry Brown. His age was 72 years, 6 months and7 days.
