Obituary

Robert Massengill was born July 22, 1868 and died December 67, 1938, being 72 years, 4 months, 14 days old. He professed faith in Christ at the age of 13 years and joined the Cave Springs Baptist Church and lived a faithful member until death.

He was united in marriage to Sarah Matilda Sutton in August 1890, and to this union was born eight children.

He leaves to mourn his passing six children, Mrs. Lilly Johnson, Mrs. Vinia Fultz, Sterling Massengill of Tazewell; Mrs. Rachel Cosby, Mrs. Minnie Estep, Willey Massengill of Harrogate; three sisterss, Mrs. Adeline Sandifer, Mrs. Amanda Patterson of Tazewell, and Mrs. Cinda Owens of Kentucky; 38 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of reltives and friends.

Funeral services were held by Rev. John Ogan at Cave Springs Baptist Church, interment in the church cemetery. We know our loss in Heaven's gain. We feel that he is at rest with all the blest and know that we will soon go to be with him in that sweet home.
