IRON RIVER---Alba E. Bigari, 85, died March 19, 2007 at the Iron River Care Center.
She was born Oct. 24, 1921 in Iron River, the daughter of the late Alfred and Elvira (Manci) Angeli. She graduated from the Iron River High School in 1939 and also earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Marquette University in Milwaukee. On Nov. 24, 1945 she married Louis Bigari and together the couple owned and operated the former Iron Inn Hotel until retiring in 1986. She also operated the local bus depot until 1995. Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1986. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and the altar society, the former 20th Century Women's Club, and was an avid bridge player. She was also preceded in death by a daughter Louise Meyers; a sister Sarah Angeli; and four brothers, Thomas, Libero, Richard and Leonard "Mike" Angeli.
She is survived by a son John (Barbara) of Grand Rapids; a daughter Susan (Mike) Merrill of Santa Fe, N.M.; two brothers, Alfred (Bay) Angeli of Iron River and Mark (Diane) Angeli of Iron Mountain; two sisters, Catherine Angeli of Bloomfield and Maria Angeli of Germantown, Wis.; six grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A private family visitation will be held at the Landenberg Funeral Home-Iron River Chapel.
A memorial Mass will be held at a later date at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River.
Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery.
The Langenberg Funeral Home-Iron River Chapel is serving the family.

IRON RIVER -- A memorial Mass for Alba Bigari, 85, who died March 19, 2007 will be held Friday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Dino Silvestrini to serve as celebrant and the Rev. Fr. Otto Sartorelli to concelebrate the Mass.
The family will receive guests in the Gathering Room at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. A memorial luncheon will be served in the church hall immediately following the Mass.Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery.The family suggests that memorials can be made to the Iron County Museum or the Friendship Club at the Iron River Care Center. The Langenberg Funeral Home-Iron River Chapel is serving the family.
