Funeral services for John W. Watson of Sidon will be held from the Williams and Lord Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. J.R. Nanney officiating. Burial will be in the Itta Bena Cemetery. Mr. Watson died this morning at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital following a long illness. He was 86. He was a retired farmer having had farming interests in Leflore County for the past 45 years. Hw was a member of the Baptist Church. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jane Watson of Sidon; four sons, Harvey Watson and D. B. Watson, both of Cruger; Clyde Watson of Itta Bena, Hale Watson of Bacliff, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Thora Andrews of Greenwood, Mrs. Clarice Boykin and Mrs. Laura Lee, both of Itta Bena, Mrs. Thelma Andrews of Sidon; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Published in Greenwood Commonwealth on July 28, 1965.
