Charles Schofield was born on January 28, 1930, in Waterloo, Alabama, to Clarence William and Minnie Bell (Kline) Schofield. He had 1 sister, Wanda Louise. He grew up mostly in Illinois. In 1943, his family came to Wichita, Kansas. He spent a couple of years in Germany with the Army.


On August 30, 1958, he married Louise Marie Garigin. To this union, four children were born: Charlene, Dorothy, Charles Jr, and Dennis.


Dad retired from Cessna Aircraft in Jan, 1995 after 38 1/2 years. He had planned to retire in 1992, but a tornado destroyed his and mom's home on April 26, 1991 and he wasnt able to follow his plans. His health had been failing for many years but he continued to work.


He passed away Jan 3, 2002, 25 days shy of his 72nd birthday of a heart attack. He left behind his beloved wife, all four kids and 8 grandkids: Chris, Sara, Erica, Chad, Kyle, Robert, Michelle and Lynn, and since he's been gone, 9 great grandchildren have been born: Shaun, Emily, Christina, Patrick, Riley, Payton, Robert, Isabella, and Revan. Sadly, Robert passed away in 2017. 2 other Great Grandchildren were added to this family by marriage: Caitlyn and Brandon.


He was preceded in death by his parents. His sister Wanda passed away March of 2005.


Dad has been missed every day since he left us and will always be in our hearts. We love you very much Dad!
