55 years old
James Nathan Harp was the 2nd son of Thomas Marion Harp and Prudence Masoner Harp. He was born in Rhea County in the part that is now Meigs County, on the Hiwassee River in East Tennessee.

James married Elizabeth Humphrey in Morehoue Parish on September 16, 1854. Have found very little on the Humphrey family - still looking.

James died on the Bayou Bonne Idee, Morehouse Parish, Louisiana, from the effects of a kick by an outlaw mule.

9. Harriett Prudence (Harp) Hope, b. March 15, 1874 d. Feb. 8, 1956; Married Lula Belle's widower, Robert Walter Hope.

Military record: J.N. Harp, pvt Co. C, 13th Batt'n La. (Partisan Rangers) Enlisted August 1st, 198-, Bastrop, LA. On rolls from November 1862 to April 30, 1863, present. From muster Rolls of Louisiana Soldiers C.S.A. Shreveport Memorial.
