Estella May Roach was the second child and first daughter of 13 children born to George Wesley and Elizabeth Isabel (Hoot) Roach. She was born in Henry County, Ohio on October 7, 1884.

She married first, Bert William Loewe, son of Gustav and Sarah (Sullivan) Loewe; he was born in Cleveland, Ohio. They were married April 22, 1902 in Lucas County.

They were the parents of one daughter, Gladys, born in 1903 and later married Howard Door. Gladys was Stella's only child.

She married second, Edward Welty; unknown date, Toledo, Lucas, Ohio.

Stella was a professional seamstress. Her creations included custom wedding gowns and tuxedos. She had a Manchester Terrier named Trinka that did many tricks.

Stella died in Toledo at Riverside Hospital following an illness of four years.
