Feb 19, 1963 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services for Clarence R. Thomas, 74, Carroll, who died early Saturday in a Pasadena, Calif., hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at the First Presbyterian Church in Carroll. The Rev. Allan M. Peterson will officiate.

Burial with military honors will be in the family lot in the Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Huffman Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Tuesday. The Masonic memorial service will be given at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, with Clifford Mason of Westside as orator. A private prayer service for the family will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Mr. Thomas, a retired painter, was born in Carroll April 2, 1888, a son of Levi and Lucinda Aiken Thomas. He served in World War I; and on Dec. 9, 1933, was married to Lydia Weitkamp at Denison. In addition to his membership in First Presbyterian Church and Masonic organizations, he was a member of Maurice Dunn Unit No. 7, American Legion.

Surviving are his wife, Lydia; and one brother, Chancey Thomas, Temple City, Calif. His parents and one sister, Mrs. Ella Allen, preceded him in death.
