U.S. Congressman. He graduated from Dartmouth College New Hampshire, in 1927, where he was an All American quarterback for the college’s football team. He graduated from Fordham University Law School, New York City, in 1930, was a feature writer for New York Sun, (1927-38), radio broadcaster, (1936-48) and a public relations executive, (1938-55). During World War II, he served on Secretary of the Navy and Secretary of War food committees. After the war, he was a trustee for Mamaroneck, New York, was associated with the Institute of Public Relations, (1946-48) and Mayor of Mamaroneck, (1950-56). In 1957, he was elected as a Republican to the Eighty-fifth, Eighty-sixth and Eighty-seventh Congresses, serving until 1963. An unsuccessful for re-nomination, he returned his public relations interests and was chairman of the New York State Athletic Commission, (1966-75).
