Raymond Francis Doyle, age 86, of Morris, died July 17, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris.

Raymond was born February 24, 1909, in St. Joseph Township, St. Croix County, Wisconsin, to James Peter and Mary Frances (Hughes) Doyle. He grew up in Coteau, North Dakota, and received his education there through the 11th grade. He finished high school at St. Thomas Academy in St. Paul, MN, graduating in 1926. Following his education, Raymond worked at a St. Anthony and Dakota grain elevator, where he later became manager.

On June 12, 1940, he married Ann Byrud, at Bowbells, North Dakota. In 1941, Raymond accepted a job with the Great Northern Railroad Company as an agent and telegrapher. Later, Great Northern Railway was taken over by Burlington Northern, and Raymond remained with them until retiring in 1974.

He was active as a Boy Scout leader and a ham radio operator, serving as operator for Noon Net Control for many years. His hobbies included woodworking, painting, and general handyman work.

Raymond Doyle is survived by his wife, Ann, of Morris; two sons: John and his wife Patty, of Eagan, and R. Patrick and his wife, Shirley, of Columbia Heights; a daughter, Frances Ann Doyle, of Wahpeton, ND; a daughter-in-law, Carol E. Doyle, of Mound; two grandsons; two brothers: John L., of California, and James A., of Spokane, WA; and two sisters: Mary Schaeffer and Dorothy Fults, both of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Maurice "Casey"; two sisters: Katherine and Margaret; and a son, James Raymond.

An anatomical bequest was made to the Mayo Foundation, in Rochester. The family is planning a private memorial service at a later date.

Arrangements were with Pedersen Funeral Home, Morris.
