Elvira Jane Hedrick was the eldest of thirteen known children of George Hedrick Jr. (1809-1877) and Fanny Miller (1810-1889), who married 06 Sep 1830 at Davidson County, North Carolina. Was Fanny's maiden name really Miller? or was she a Clodfelter, first married to a Miller?

Elvira married Jacob Hinkle (1827-1918) on 01 Oct 1857 at Edwards County, Illinois. Elvira and Jacob were the parents of three known children, namely:

1. Mary Jane Hinkle Boyle (1860-1957)
2. Lucy M. Hinkle Boyle (1862-1966)
3. George Edgar Hinkle (1869-1945)

Jacob's first wife was Clarissa Glick (1833-c1856), with whom he had a known daughter and son. In 1870 the parents, three children, and a child from Jacob's first marriage were living at Salem Precinct, Edwards County, Illinois. Elvira said she was the mother of three, all living. In 1910 the parents were living with their daughter Lucy and her family at Mattoon, Coles County, Illinois.
