Cambridge Rites for Charles Collens
Services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Bigelow Chapel, Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge, for Charles Collens of Newton Centre, noted architect. He died yesterday. He was 83.
Some of the buildings he designed in this area are the Leslie Lindsey Memorial Chapel, Andover Theological Seminary in Cambridge; Second Congregational Church in West Newton; and Newton City Hall.
He leaves his wife Margaret (Winsor) Collens; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret L. Gruener of Weston and Mrs. Linda C. Wilson of Buffalo, N.Y.; a son C. Terry Collens of Newton Centre, and nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
