A much admired and loved local citizen of Baird Texas, World War I war veteran Edgar 'Buck' Smith passed away after a 5 day stay in the Hendricks Memorial Hospital on 25 Nov 1962.
Edgar was born in Admiral Texas, 5 Feb 1893 and married to Elva Lena (Purvis) Smith. He was a Stock Farmer by trade and a resident of 206 West 7th Street in Baird Texas. His parents a Mr. Clark Smith 1863 -1928 and Mrs Mary Etta (Weeks) Smith 1872 - 1950.
Though no children of their own, their home was never short on family members as it was a regular gathering point for family reunions over many years
