Raymond H. Hoffman, Colonel and Engineer

Raymond H. Hoffman, 79, of 3806 Hillcrest Road, died Tuesday in Holy Spirit Hospital.

He was retired as an Army colonel and an engineer for Bell Telephone Co.; a veteran of World War II; a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal for outstanding performance of duty; a post commander of Post 27, American Legion; a past deputy commander of the 19th District, American Legion Department of Pennsylvania; a past national commander of the Society of the 28th Division; a member of the Legionnaires Disease Survivors Association of Pennsylvania; Zion Lutheran Church; Post 1086, VFW; Perseverance Lodge 21, F&AM; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Forest 43; Scottish Rite Consistory, Valley of Harrisburg; Zembo Temple; York Camp Heroes Chapter 76 of the National Sojourners; Zembo Temple Legion of Honor; Zembo Luncheon Club; BPOE Lodge 578, Carlisle; Voiture 269, 40/8; a life member of DAV, Post 4; and was a life member and former secretary of the Susquehannock Hunting and Fishing Club.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Anna H. Hoffman; a son, Raymond Jr. of Camp Hill; a brother, William of Tower City; a sister, Mrs. Ella Mogavero of San Diego, Calif.; and two granddaughters.

Services will be held Saturday at 8:15 p.m. at the funeral home at 3501 Derry St. Burial will be in Fort Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery.

Friends my call at the funeral home Saturday after 7 p.m.

Masonic and military services will be held at 8 p.m.
