Dieterich- Mrs. Marion Benjamin (Arca Gass) Elkin, 85, of Dieterich died at 12:40 a.m. today in the Newton Rest Haven.
Mrs. Elkin was born May 6, 1893. She married Marion Benjamin Elkin in 1914. He died in 1971.
Mrs. Elkin was a member of Effingham Chapter 110 of Eastern Star, the Effingham chapter of White Shrine and the Dieterich Women's Club, of which she was a past president and charter member.
Mrs. Elkin is survived by a son, Eldred (Jack) and his wife Jessie of Effingham; a sister Dolly Bickers of Dieterich; three grandchildren, Carole Conour of Collinsville, Jacqueline Sue Elkin of Maryland Hts., Mo., and Fred B. Elkin of Dieterich; and two great-grandchildren, Jason and Amy Elkin.
Three sisters and a brother preceded in death.
Services for Mrs. Elkin will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Wright Funeral Home, Dieterich, with the Rev. Lawrence Beebe of Effingham officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
