He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Frank C. Folks Masonic Lodge 192, Central Baptist Church and the Men's Bible Class. He was a native of Barnesville but had lived in Waycross most of his life. His parents were Willis and Nancy Ann Keene Britt.
Survivors are his wife, Hazel Morgan Wilson Britt, Waycross; a daughter, Nancy Hodge, Waycross; two sons, John Willis Britt, Waycross, and Larry Stephen Britt, Stone Mountain; two sisters Margaret McCord, Barnesville, and Alma Brady, Warner Robbins; four step-daughters, Una Fulford, Waycross, Lynn Pingle, Atlanta, Dean Johns, St. Simons Island, and Anna Lewis, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and 21 grand-children.
Funeral is scheduled at 8 p.m. today at Central Baptist Church. The service will be followed by burial in Oakland Cemetery with Mincy-Fulford Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
