"Scott County News.
Scottsburgh, Aug. 4, 1883.--Wm. H. Mitchell, of Jennings township, died last Saturday of pneumonia, and was buried Monday by Hoosier Lodge, Knights of Honor. He was highly respected by all who knew him."

"It becomes our duty to chronicle the sudden and unexpected death of Wm. H. Mitchell, who died early Monday morning after being confined to his bed a little over a week of fever. The deceased was a member of the Knights of Honor by which order he was buried at the Spurgeon graveyard on Monday afternoon. Mr. M. was a resident of Scott county the most of his life and was respected by all who knew him. The entire neighborhood sympathized with the bereaved family in the loss of a true husband and kind father. The widow will receive $2,000 from the K. of H."
