HALIFAX - Iola E. Bechtel, age 84, a resident at the Manor at Susquehanna Village and formerly of Halifax went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 26 at the Manor.
She was born in Halifax, PA, the daughter of the late Mason and Sarah Shoop Enders. She was a member of word of Life Chapel in Halifax and enjoyed woodworking crafts and gardening.
She was the widow of John L. Bechtel. Survivors include four sons J. Charles and his wife Bonnie of Halifax, Mahlon and his wife Lorrie of York, Eugene and his wife Cathy of Bloomsburg, Ivan and his wife Pamela of Halifax, nine grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, five brothers Kenneth Enders of Cornwall, Roy Enders of Denver, CO, Clark Enders, Lee Enders and Todd Enders all of Halifax, two sisters Faye Adams of Dalmatia and Darlean Skaddan of Elizabethville. She was preceded in death by a brother Forrest Enders. There will be a viewing on Saturday April 2, 2011 from 9-11 AM, at Word of Life Chapel 27 Fellowship Drive in Halifax followed by services at 11 am with Rev. Robert Baer officiating. Burial will be in Jacobs UB Cemetery in Halifax. Donations can be made to her church or to Hospice of Central PA 1320 Linglestown Road Harrisburg, PA 17110.
