Claude Marc Boucherville de Baissac was born in Curepipe, Mauritius, he became one of the most effective Agents of the French Section of the Special Operations Executive. His elder sister Lise was also an Agent with S.O.E.
Claude organised the very important Scientist network of resistance fighters and he worked with Francis Suttill.
First mission was:30th July 1942 he was sent to France and returned to England by Lysander aircraft.
He was again parachuted into France during February 1944 - his task was to amalgamate and energise the resistance groups from Caen to Laval. When D-Day came all the resistance groups were ready to delay and obstruct the German advance, which was of crucial importance to the Allied landings.
Claude joined George Star and his Wheelwright network when D-Day became operational in the Southwest.
After the war Claude married Mary Katherine Herbert, they had one daughter.
