Walter Everton
Walter A. Everton, 88, a long-time Crofton pharmacist, died Tuesday, November 9 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, S.D.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday at the Crofton Congregational Church, Rev. Wayne Rager officiated and burial was in the Crofton City Cemetery.
Born August 12, 1888, at Crofton to Alvah and Sarah (Leader) Everton, he married Mayme Christopherson October 23, 1912, in Sioux City, Ia.
Surviving are his widow; four sons, Dale of Santa Anna, Calif.; Verne of Ponca, Harley of Wichita, Kans.; and Keith of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Lillian) Young and Mrs. Fred (Chadyeane) Sumpter Jr., both of Las Vega, Nev.; one brother, Marion of Crofton; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Nellis of Las Vegas and Mrs. Mae Clark of Long Beach, Calif.; 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were C.H. Swift, Jr., M.D., D.E. Rissler, Henry Schwartz, Don Swift, Don Spawn and Don Strahl. The Wintz Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
