Daughter of the late LaFayette and Pearl Viola Houston Massingill, she was the widow of James "Ralph" Welker (married on December 1, 1935, in Waukomis, OK). She enjoyed singing in the church choir and with the Garfield County Choral Club. She worked for the Tri State office during the music festival for many years. She was a member of the Hackberry Extension Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames, and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was long active with the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Wendall Welker; two brothers, LaFayette "George" Massingill and Hanno Massingill; and two sisters, Genevieve McVicker and Vivian Solorio. She was survived by one sister, Nona Miller Lang; one brother, George Messingill (Jeanne); one sister-in-law, Audine Massingill; and an extended family of relatives and friends. Her funeral was held on March 21, 2011, with The Rev. Grayson Lucky, The Rev. Gail Edmison and The Rev. George Massingill officiating.
