Deceased Passes Away After a Short Illness
A Wife And Eleven Children Left to Mourn His Demise
From Saturday's Daily.
Bailey M. Petty died at his home In South Park at 3:20 o'clock this morning. He has been a sufferer with kidney trouble for a long time, but had only been bedfast since last Wednesday.
Deceased was born in Pennsylvania [sic] in 1832 and was therefore sixty-seven years of age. In 1852 he removed with his parents to Iowa where he resided until 1888, at which time he went to South Dakota residing there nine years, removing to this city two years ago. He was an honest and conscientious citizen and was the possessor of many friends. In his youth he united with the Methodist church and has always been a strong believer in the teachings of the bible.
A wife and eleven children are left to mourn his demise. The children are F. A., H. F., W. W., James, R. B., John, Lincoln and H. V. Petty and Mrs C. N. Shultz and Mrs Sherman Hardy all residing in this city except James who resides in Missouri and who Is expected to be In attendance at the funeral.
The funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Baptist church conducted by Rev. F. A. Campbell.

Bailey M PETTY was actually born in Wood Co, (West) Virginia, not Pennsylvania. A son and two daughters were omitted from his obit. Charles (1859-1864), Mary (1865-1882), and Clara (1882-1974).
