MRS. GEORGE H. TORREY.

Following an operation at St. Jerome's hospital last Thursday, Mrs. George H. Torrey of the town of Bethany, died Sunday afternoon. She was 56 years, old, and the daughter of the late Chester P. and Theodotia Hurd of Batavia. She was married in 1895 to Mr. Torrey of Stafford, and had lived there for some time, and was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church of that place. She was also a member of the Stafford grange.

Mrs. Torrey leaves besides her husband, a son, Elbert G. H. Torrey; four daughters, Misses Mae Belle, Lucile E. and Ruby Delilah Torrey, who reside at home, and Mrs. Harold M. Lawrence of Fargo; a sister, Mrs. M. B. Buckley of Batavia; three grandchildren.

The Rev. J. Ellis Tibbets of the Methodist Episcopal church at Stafford officiated at the funeral services which were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The burial was in the Stafford cemetery.
