Pearl Mae Carey, 85, 2801 Longwood Court, died at 4:40 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1983, in Howard Community Hospital. She had been hospitalized five weeks and in failing health several years. She was born in Bartholomew County, March 8, 1898, the daughter of Jacob H. and Annie E.(Mounts Breeding Singer Castor) Singer. July 13, 1916 she married Stanley R. Harrell, who died April 4, 1952. In 1956, she married Paul F. Carey, who died in 1963. Mrs. Carey was a member of the First Baptist Church and Fellowship Sunday School Class of the church. She was also a member of Howard County Senior Citizens Club and Kokomo Senior Club. Surviving are two daughters, Willa Marie Lowry and Joenita Mae Cone, both of Kokomo; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. One great-grandchild is deceased. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Sunset Memory Gardens by the Rev. Everett Chambers. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Ellers Mortuary.
