Obituary - Stanley A. Arthur died on Monday at his home on Bell Avenue, Blue Point. Mr. Arthur was born 72 years ago in Bayport, but lived most of his life in Blue Point. He was retired contractor.
He was one of the first presidents of the Blue Point Republican Club and also belonged South Masonic Lodge, 492, of Patchogue, the Foresters Lodge of Patchogue, and the Exempt Firemen's Association of Patchogue. At the time of his death he was a member of the Blue Point Board of Fire Commissioners.
Mr. Arthur is survived by his widow, Mrs. Etta Smith Arthur. Masonic services were held at eight o'clock on Wednesday evening from his late home and funeral services were held at 2:30 yesterday afternoon from the home with the Rev. Carl G. Gernannt, pastor of the Emanuel Lutheran Church of Patchogue, officiating. Interment was in Blue Point Cemetery.
