John C. Farthing
Big Timber--Funeral services for John C. Farthing, 72, Reed Point, who died after a short illness in a Columbus hospital, were held at the Evangelical Brethren Church. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery here.

Survivors are the widow, four daughters and two sons.

Farthing was a native of Sugar Grove, N. C. He came to Montana in 1914, and ranched in this community. Later he purchased the Reed Point Hotel.
