George Robertson Warden was the second son of Thomas and Barbara Robertson Warden. Family records say he was born August 1, 1872 but no, I think he was born August 1, 1876 in Scotland when his mother and brother Charles went to Scotland and lived for 6 years before traveling on to South New Zealand where she lived with both boys for 8 years with her sister, Margaret Renton near Balclutha. I would say her sister Jane may have gone with her to Scotland. August 1882 Barbara, Charles and George are sailing on the Wairarapa and they lived in Balclutha for eight years where Charles and George got their education. 1886, Charles was 16 yrs and doing his student teaching at Mosgiel. Charles went to Otago University. About 1890-91 Barbara and George leave from Auckland, New Zealand and return to New York where they are living. It has been said by family members that George attended night school and his career was a comptroller at Abraham & Strauss and later at DePina's Department Stores. 1905 George was listed as secretary of Success Magazine, which is the magazine that Orison S Marden started in October 1896.

September 27, 1897 he married Belle Shreve Nunez from a prominent Kentucky family and a prominent Philadelphia family. Four sons were born to George and Belle with the second son, Charles living only a few days ; burial is in Laurel Hill, Philadelphia with Grandfather Joseph A Nunez who had died about a year earlier. Harry the oldest son died of diabetes and influenza complication in 1923 just after they had announced an engagement for Harry and Emily von Auw. Emily never married and lived in New Mexico as an art professor. Cyrus, surgeon and Shreve, lawyer have descendants living today.

Son Cyrus Ely Warden, Sr married Harriet Stanley Steele with both giving their bodies to the University of Florida Medical School, Gainesville, Florida.

Grandson Cyrus Ely "Joe" Warden, Jr
