Commonwealth Reporter, Mon. Dec. 14, 1942, p. 14:3. GROCER, FORMER HOTEL OPERATOR DIES IN HOSPITAL. Sebastian Moersch Dies At 60; Rites Will Be Held At St. Joseph's. Sebastian Moersch, 60, Fond du Lac grocer and former hotel and livery owner, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday at St. Agnes hospital after an extended illness. He had been in the hospital only a few days. Born April 28, 1882, in Calumet, Fond du Lac county, son of Michael and Mary Raetz Moersch, he was married July 21, 1901, to Miss Katherine Walgenbach of this city, the ceremony having been performed in St. Mary's church. Mr. Moersch was associated for many years with his father in conducting a hotel and livery business at Fifth and Main streets and for the last 17 years operated a grocery store at Fourth and Everett streets. Surviving are his widow, three sons, Clarence of this city, Emmett of Chicago and Corp. Arnold of Barstow, Calif., two grandchildren, Diane and Sandra of Chicago, two brothers, Arnold and John of this city and three sisters, Mrs. Veronica Schorr, Mrs. Michael Giebel and Mrs. Otto Dobe of this city. The body will lie in state at the Zacherl funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services iwll be held there at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and at 9:15 a.m. from St. Joseph's church, of which Mr. Moersch was a member. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery.

Funeral services for Sebastian Moersch, who died Sunday, were held at 8:45 a.m. today from the Zacherl funeral home and at 9:15 a.m. from St. Joseph's church, the Rev. Henry G. Riordan officiating. Burial was at Calvary cemetery where the Rev. John Cullen, assistant, officiated. Pallbearers were Dr. A.M. Hutter, Edward and Roman Walgenbach, Walter Griebling, Sylvester Schorr and Claude Giebel. Those attending the rites included Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Moersch of Chicago, Corp. Arnold A. Moersch of California, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Quackenboss, Mrs. Anna Walgenbach and Mr. and Mrs. Roman Walgenbach of St. Cloud and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Spiffle of Calvary.
