WINSTON-SALEM – Mrs. Lucy Jane White Kimmer, 92, a resident of Independence Village of Winston-Salem, formerly of Royal Oaks Street, Thomasville, died Sunday, March 6, 2011 at The Oaks of Forsyth. She was born July 1, 1918 in Surry County, a daughter of James A. White and Sarah Emaline Sneed White. Mrs. Kimmer was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Trinity, NC. On December 3, 1938 she was married to Jack Kimmer, who died August 27, 1990.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Kelly Martin; a sister, Marie Carpenter and brothers, Roland White and Wade White.

Surviving are daughters, Glenda Sheets and Brenda North and her husband Charles; grandchildren, Chris Martin and wife Robin, Tracie Martin, Rick Sheets and wife Ronda and Sandra Bullock; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 1 p.m. in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville with Rev. Steve Jarvis officiating. Mrs. Kimmer will remain at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home, Wallburg Chapel, Winston-Salem until the service hour. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The family request any memorial contributions may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
