From her obituary:

Emma, the daughter of the late William Ehlert and his wife Louise, nee Schweer, was born on a farm seven miles south of Gerald. Mo. on Oct. 2, 1875. She received her education in the Walbert public school and early religious training in the Methodist Church at Red Oak. On Dec. 23, 1897 she was united in marriage to J. E. Cole, making their home on a farm five miles south of Gerald. To this union six children were born. One daughter, Elsie, preceded her in death in June 1907 at the age of three years. Her husband passed away on Nov. 30, 1950 and son-in-law John Talbert, on Oct 12. 1960. In January 1961 Mrs. Cole was united in marriage to William Feld miller Sr., making their home in Gerald. Mrs. Feldmiller was in failing health for some time and departed this life at St. Francis Hospital in Washington, Mo. on Tuesday, April 2, 1963 at the age of 87 years and six months. Survivors include her husband', William; . three daughters, Ethel Brinkmann of Washington, Mo., Florence Jones and Lillie Talbert of St. Louis; two sons, Elmer Cole of Washington, Mo. and William Cole of Venice. Ill. After resting at the Meyer. Funeral Home in Gerald, funeral services were held Saturday, April 6, 1983 at New Friendshio Baptist Church at Walbert, with Bros. Elmer Reichert and Raymond Jett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

In speaking of her, family members always remarked on two things:
1) She loved bananas! When visiting they frequently brought her bananas instead of other gifts or candies or flowers. Once given them, she would take them in another room to hide them so she would not have to share them should her guests stay long.
2)She enjoyed shocking people by telling "dirty" jokes and was said to "curse like a sailor".
