Tom McCurley was the son of William M. McCurley and Millie Shiflet. He lost his father to the Civil War when he was only 2. On Dec. 21, 1881, he married Damie Adams in Hart Co. They moved to Marion Co., AL, after 1898, probably between 1903 and 1905 when their daughter Donie moved there. He was a minister (Baptist I think) and owned a store at one point before it burned down. He left many children and grandchildren.
