Appears in many records as David C. LaChapelle or D. C. LaChapelle. Confirmation of his full name being David Charles LaChapelle came from his daughter Maud's Social Security application.
Homesteaded with his young family in Holt County, Nebraska.
Even though David moved frequently throughout the United States, his consistent use of D.C. LaChapelle as his name helped me obtain information from various newspapers and records on both his family and the extended LaChapelle family.
