Kezia was born on April 4, 1817, in Ohio. She married Robert Dimmitt on March 3, 1836, in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. Kezia and Robert had eleven children:
Perry M., Mary Nancy, Susanna (married Caleb Linge), Corene Angeline (married Joseph aka Josiah) Humbert, Oliver Hazard (name of 1st wife unknown; 2nd wife, Maggie Schaffer), Harriet Eliza (married James Campbell), William Henry (1st wife, Sarah Felix; 2nd wife, Hattie Alvin), Martha Ellen (married Alexander McMeekin), Theodore married Mary Clementine Brackney), Sarah Elizabeth, and Kezia Jane (married Alfred Lester).

After Robert's death, Kezia moved in the 1880s to South Dakota, near Huron, with her son Oliver Hazard and his family. They moved in oxen-drawn covered wagons and lived in sod houses with straw burners for heat. There was a school house called "The Dimmitt School," on a corner where the sections of land met. The family lived there for several years until they sold out and moved to Illinois because of ill health. Kezia died on August 16, 1899, in Elgin, Illinois.
