Funeral services for James Claxton Hill of Cordele will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow in the Milan City Cemetery. The family will greet friends prior to the service Tuesday from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Hill, 80, passed away Sunday,at his residence. He was born in Pulaski County and was the son of the late Alonzo James and Lillie Ruth Hall Hill. A graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Hill was a Forester (RET) with the Smurfit Container Corp. He was an active member of Cordele First United Methodist Church and the Society of American Foresters.
He is survived by his wife, Marinene Cravey Hill of Cordele; two sons, James Michael Hill of Roswell and Dr. Scott Hill and his wife, Rana of Chattanooga, TN; a brother, Robert D. Hill of Vacaville, CA; and two granddaughters, Allison Hill and Lauren Hill, both of Chattanooga, TN.
